Cold tuna pasta

With the sun out (no, don't say horray!!), I thought a cold tuna pasta would go nicely. Unfortunately I did not have all the ingredients I would have ideally liked to add (and I ran out of mayonnaise lol), so I have wrote down what I added, and what I would have liked to add.



  • Skill level:
  • Serves: 7-9 people
  • Prep and cooking time: 45 mins (as time to cook pasta and then for it to cool)
What you will need:

700g-1kg shell- shaped pasta (known as conchiglie, or pick any shape you like)
1/2 tsp salt
splash of olive oil
3 cans of tuna
2 cans sweetcorn
10 tbsp mayonnaise (more or less)
Juice of 1 lemon
1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
1/2-1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
pinch of oregano
2 handfuls of grated cheddar cheese

What I would have liked to add:

cucumber, finely chopped
carrots, finely grated
and more mayo!

How to make:

1) In a large pot, add the pasta, salt and the splash of olive oil, and add enough boiling water to cover the pasta. Leave to cook for 10-15 mins. Remove from heat, drain and leave to cool down

2) Add to the pasta the rest of the ingredients, tasting and adjusting the quantites as you like, then serve
