Apple crisp

This is a delicious, straight forward dessert, which is a cross between a cake and an apple crumble. So quick yet so delicious!

  • Skill level: Easy
  • Serves: 5-8 people
  • Prep time: 10 mins
  • Baking time: 30-40 mins
What you will need:

6 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1/4 cup butter (60g), melted, then cooled slightly
1/2 tsp cinnamon

How to make:

1) Place the sliced apples in a deep dish (pick a size depending on the quantity of apples used)

2) In a bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add the egg and beat in, followed by the butter

3) Place the mixture over the apples and try your best to form an even smooth topping. Sprinkle the cinnamon on top

4) Place in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30-40 mins, then remove and leave to cool for at least 10 mins (if you can resist)

Serve with ice cream, custard, chocolate topping, cream, whatever tickles your taste buds, and enjoy :))
