Juicy beef burger

There is nothing like a home made juicy beef burger...and my father, the biggest food critic, said 'Nosaiba, these are better than the ones we buy'. Obviously this made me super happy, as a compliment about food from theee dad is indeed a great achievement! Lol. Funny thing is, I kind of added whatever I thought would go well in a burger mix, to make a really juicy flavoursome beef burger.

  • Skill level: Easy
  • Serves: 5-8 people (depending on the appetite of each individual)
  • Prep time: 45 mins
  • Cooking time: 5-8 mins for both sides
What you will need:

700g minced beef
2 tbsp breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp black pepper
1/2 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tbsp paprika
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tbsp bbq sauce
1 tsp mustard sauce

How to make:

1) Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl, until well incorporated

2) Cover the bowl and place in the fridge for at least half an hour (this helps the meat to become more firm)

3) Place 3 tbsp vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, take a handful of meat mixture, and make a patty using your hand (the thickness is solely up to how you like your burger, thick or thin)

4) Fry until browned, then flip over. Check the centre of at least one meat burger if cooked through by cutting through the middle. Place onto a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil

And a random picture I feel like adding:

Burgers as they sizzled
The accompaniments (shown below) to a beef burger can make all the difference. I made fresh coleslaw (please feel free to ask if you don't know how to make this), cut up onions, tomato, pickled turnips, gerkins, jalepenos and made chips. InshAllah you make these delicious burgers and enjoyyyy :)
