Lahmee bil khubuz (meat on a bread) لحمه بالخبز

This is a super simple Lebanese food to put together for lunch, dinner or a snack :D
It tastes delicious, and takes so little effort! You can use any type of bread that you like, we always have pitta bread in the freezer, so I used pitta for mine.

One pot rice with chicken, carrot and chickpeas

Sometimes, you miss cooking so much you begin to imagine what you want to cook. You actually visualise every ingredient...or maybe I am just crazy? lol

So here is this dish I put together after imagining what I want to make whilst driving home. Alhamdulilah it turned out delicious, a definite treat!

Sticky grilled chicken drumsticks

I was strolling through the aisle, and as usual, I love to pick up stuff first, then think of what to make with it after. I did that with the chicken drumsticks, got home, and decided to make sticky grilled chicken drumsticks.

Meat kebabs in tangy tomato sauce

Unfortunately there is no modern technology that allows tastes to travel via the internet, or you would have loved how delicious this was, mashAllah! Unfortunately the pictures don't do it justice, nor does the description. The only way you can really know is to make it yourself, and what a good idea that would be! :D

After I made this, I struggled to think of what to call it. In Lebanese, we would call the meat 'kafta' when prepared in the way I did, before adding the sauce ofcourse, but I guess kebabs is a more common and familiar word. Anyway, the point is...it is DELICIOUS, so who really cares what it is called? hehe

Humus msabah حمص مسبح - Lebanese style chickpea breakfast

It is quite difficult to explain what humus msabah literally means, as it is basically humus floating - or something along those lines! What you can guarantee though is a delicious quick breakfast, using hardly any effort or ingredients.

Chocolate cookies with oreo pieces

Now I have to be honest, this all happened rather randomly. I was planning on making chunky chocolate cookies, but whilst weighing my chocolate, I only had half of what I need. A light bulb in my head said ooo we have oreos, and out came the oreo biscuits, and in they went to the cookie mix. So here they are, delicious oreo chocolate cookies!

Honey glazed spicy chicken burger

When you have chicken breasts in the freezer, and burger buns sitting there waiting to be eaten, why not make a honey glazed spicy chicken burger? It does sound rather odd, honey and spicy...right? Well my experimentation turned out delicious alhamdulilah!

Chicken karahi

I always get a little anxious at how authentic the asian dishes I make are, but I like to adapt dishes to suit my preferences sometimes, so if you make this in an even tastier way, please let me know.

Fat free chocolate cake

What better way to celebrate than with cake? And what is better than a fat free cake? The best thing about this is that it is so simple to make, it is fat free yet tastes like a chocolate swiss roll...honestly, it is so delicious!

My dear sister loves biscotti, well so do I, and I have always wanted to make them..but just never did. Her request was for me to make them, and so I did. I decided to make almond and cranberry biscotti as I thought the two together would be delicious..and alhamdulilah it sure was.

Crispy fried chicken

Who does not like some crispy fried chicken? Delicious, crispy, spicy...with a juicy chicken when you crack through it.

Scrambled eggs - Nosaiba style

I am not entirely sure whether the way I make scrambled eggs is a Lebanese style - or whether it is my adapted version of scrambled eggs! I wasn't sure whether I should even upload this, because there isn't much effort when it comes to scrambled eggs - but I thought I would since I have been asked about this before. So here it goes :)

Easy potato wedges

I am sure there are many recipes out there which make these differently- many part boil the potatoes before putting them in the oven...but if I can make something easy, I will... and the way these potato wedges are made have minimal effort, and turn out absolutely delicious!

Chicken bhuna with red peppers

It has been a while since I uploaded, forgive me for this. But I hope and pray that great things are yet to come...and my latest update is a new camera gifted to me by my amazing sisters, which I am yet to figure out or take any decent shots. However, I have tried to take pictures of the chicken bhuna using my new camera :)

This recipe is a little bit of a chicken curry with a twist, I wasn't really too sure whether to call it chicken bhuna or not, as I added tomato paste, freshly cut tomatoes and red peppers sliced as a Nosaiba extra. None the less, it tasted delicious alhamdulilah. If you liked my recipe for the lamb bhuna http://www.nosaibasfood.com/search?q=lamb+bhuna then you will also enjoy making and eating this!

Gnocchi in a creamy tomato sauce

I don't know why I have this habit of strolling randomly down the food aisle at the supermarket, and picking up random things, then working out a dish to make from it. This is exactly what I did with the gnocchi. Alhamdulilah, it turned out delicious!! My sister had her reservations, as she had tasted gnocchi at a Italian place, but when she tasted this dish she found it more delicious than the one she had tasted. This really is worth a try!

Whole roasted salmon

My mum bought a whole salmon, 2.2kg, and said Nosaiba, cook it for us tommorow. Although the whole salmon looks like it's something tough to make, it actually is pretty simple.

Puff pastry parcels filled with a spicy potato mix

I had bought puff pastry sheets to make shuaybiyaat for visitors:

http://www.nosaibasfood.com/2012/09/sweet-semolina-filled-puff-pastry.html

However, the visitors didn't end up coming, so I had to use the puff pastry sheets before they expired. I decided to make up something super easy, yet delicious to eat too.

Fresh sheet lasagna

This is like making lasagna using the dry pasta sheets, yet using fresh ones gives an even better taste (or so I think so). Lasagna is one of my favourite pasta dishes, so I enjoyed making this and of course, eating it too :D

Chickpea & tomato tangy sauce

It was one of those days, whereby I stand there in front of two onions, garlic and a small piece of ginger...and let the brain create a dish as I go along..

I saw the tagliatelle pasta among the other types of pasta in the shop aisle, and it tickled my fancy :) So here is a nice and easy delicious way to enjoy a pasta dish.

Red cabbage salad - Lebanese style

During my visit to Lebanon, from amongst all the delicious food we ate, this red cabbage salad stood out! Yes, I know, how strange that out of all the food, a salad caught my attention! I guess it is because it wasn't something I had tried before, and I really liked it once I did. So when I got back, I made it the way I had eaten it back home.

Spinach and ricotta cannelloni

I keep getting told I always write 'the recipe is easy to make', so this time I am not going to say it is easy! :) This recipe is delicious, yet requires a little of skill when piping the mixture into the cannelloni, so there we go, this recipe isn't super easy...but it is worth it :)
