One pot tangy lamb chops

For some reason, I felt like making lamb chops today. So I made it in the most tasty and easy way my imagination could think of, keeping it simple by using one pot to make this dish.

  • Skill level: Easy
  • Serves: 5-6 people
  • Prep time: 5 mins
  • Cooking time: 1 hour
What you will need:

1 bulb of garlic, peeled and minced
5 small onions, peeled and quartered
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp black pepper
1/2 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp dried rosemary
1 tsp dried mixed herb
2-3 cups boiling water
4 tbsp pomegranate syrup
juice of 2 small lemons
1 tbsp olive oil
2 bay leaves
1 tbsp honey
750g lamb chops (I used 13 chops to be precise)

How to make:

1) Add all the above ingredients in an oven proof deep dish, mix well. Taste and adjust as needed (add more pomegranate syrup if you want it more tangy)

2) Cover and leave in the oven at 250 degrees Celsius for 15 mins, then remove the cover and leave for a further 45 mins - 1 hour, or until the meat is nice and tender

Before placing into the oven

You may wish to taste the syrup mid way of cooking, to adjust even further. This dish is super easy, as you can see, and very delicious, especially for those who love tangy flavours like me :D enjoy!

  1. These lamb chops look so delicious! I have never tried pomegranate syrup before though I do think I have seen it in the world foods section of my supermarket. Does it give a sour or tangy flavour?

    1. Yes precisely! It gives the food that yummy tangy kick! And you are right, you can find it in the world food section. I hope you give it a go and enjoy! :D
